DALLAS--(BUSINESSWIRE)-- Gore Range Capital (“Gore Range”), a healthcare venture capital firm, has added Richard D. Granstein, MD, FAAD, to its Industry Advisory Board (“IAB”) of Gore Range Capital Fund II (“Fund II”).
Dr. Granstein joins nine other skin health leaders on the IAB. The IAB works with Gore Range Capital to source, diligence and support early-stage companies with innovative treatments and technologies for skin health.

Dr. Granstein, a renowned, board-certified dermatologist and researcher, is Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine and Dermatologist-in-Chief at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
During a career spanning four decades, his research interests have centered on the regulation of immunity within the skin and the relationship of the skin immune system to the development of skin cancers. He was the first to demonstrate that immune cells within the epidermis (the upper layer of the skin) have an anatomic relationship with nerves and can be regulated by certain proteins produced by those nerves. His clinical interests include autoimmune disorders of the skin, skin cancer and psoriasis.
Dr. Granstein obtained his undergraduate education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Doctor of Medicine degree at the UCLA School of Medicine. After completing his internship in 1979, he trained in dermatology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, studied immunology and tumor biology at the National Cancer Institute-Frederick Cancer Research Facility and, subsequently, at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Granstein served on the faculty of the Department of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital before joining Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Granstein is on the Board of Directors of the American Skin Association and Chairs the Medical Advisory Board of the National Rosacea Foundation. He is the former Vice-President of the Society for Investigative Dermatology and is the President-elect of the Association of Professors of Dermatology. He has served as principal investigator for numerous research grants and trials.
